When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, the Freewinds extended its help to the people of Aruba.

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, February 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — When Aruba closed its borders in March, the Freewinds, the Church of Scientology humanitarian ship, was docked in port. With a complete lockdown on all international incoming tourists, the island’s lifeblood, the Freewinds launched a campaign to ensure a speedy reopening.

It began with distribution of educational booklets to ensure everyone knew and understood how to keep themselves and their families well.

Inspired by the words of Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard for handling such a circumstance, “an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure,” as soon as the pandemic struck, the Church of Scientology researched and distilled the most authoritative guidelines on controlling the spread of the virus. The Church produced a series of booklets and public service announcements to make the information easy to understand and use. These were all published for download on the How to Stay Well Prevention Resource Center of the Scientology website and copies were shipped out across the globe.

On receiving copies, Volunteer Ministers from Freewinds, dressed in their distinctive caps and protective gear, distributed some 97,000 copies—enough to reach every resident on the island.

“I have been seeing the booklets everywhere I go,” says the Aruba Director of Tourism in a video on the new interactive timeline on the Scientology website: 20/21—A Look Behind & A Look Ahead. And Aruba has taken this advice to heart. It was able to open its borders to international visitors in July. One American travel agent, promoting the island to prospective clients after it reopened, commented “everyone was wearing masks and paying close attention to social distancing.”

Freewinds Volunteer Ministers teamed up with Aruba’s Fire Brigade to implement these protocols island-wide. Together, they prepared churches and schools for reopening. In total, they sanitized every public school on the island to the benefit of some 26,000 students. The minister at St. Nicholas Methodist Church described how he felt about the volunteers: “to give this kind of work and say ‘this is a gift’ is an inspiration.”

One staff member of the Department of Education said that had it not been for this sanitization, the schools would not have reopened. Another thanked the Volunteer Ministers on behalf of the parents. “You don’t have a clue how nice it is to have you in our schools,” she said.

Working together, they covered still more ground, sanitizing government, civic and cultural institutions—more than 4 million square feet of spaces. “I’m going to be honest about it,” said the Chief of the Aruba Fire Brigade. “It’s not something that we could have done on our own. But it’s not a surprise because the Freewinds has always been a part of the community and always willing to help the community. Just the relentless going forward, working for the good of everybody on the island, 24/7. And when they’re done, they turn around and look at you and say ‘What’s next?’”

The Freewinds’ efforts enabled Aruba to reopen its borders to tourism,” said the Minister of Tourism and Public Health. “We appreciate all you do for the country.”

DALLAS, TX, USA, February 28, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — An African American farmer and his brothers from Omaha, Texas, are pleading for the public’s help to stop the farm they pooled their money together to purchase in 1968 from being auctioned off after a dispute with UnitedHealthcare® that has nothing to do with the farmers or their farm. The attempt to seize the farm amidst a President approved statewide winter emergency and the global pandemic has gotten the attention of celebrities and civil rights leaders who are lending their voice and social media platforms to bring attention to the issue.

86-year-old cattle farmer Lee Holley and his two brothers, Willie and Rudolph, say they have fought off racism and death threats over the years from people who have not supported seeing the 500-acre property in the hands of an African-American family. But they can’t fight off a lawsuit by the healthcare giant threatening to destroy the family’s legacy and everything they have lived and worked for over the years.

“Our family is heartbroken over this,” said Holley. “This farm is everything we have and the only life my brothers and I have known. We have raised our children and grandchildren here, and we would do anything to save it.”

The lawsuit with United healthcare is over medical claims involving Lee’s 60-year-old daughter, Dr. Lisa Holley, an anesthesiologist from Dallas. UnitedHealthcare® alleges that they overpaid for surgeries she billed through her medical practice, LH Medical, which Dr. Holley disputes. A two-million-dollar default judgment by the court opened up an opportunity for UnitedHealthcare® to come after everything, including the family farm. Dr. Holley says it is held in a family trust and should not be a part of this settlement.

“This feels like a modern-day lynching,” said Dr. Holley. “African American’s never got their 40-acres and a mule, and here you have a family who had to fight all kinds of racism to buy this farmland in the middle of the civil rights movement in the 1960s. It is even harder to keep it, only now to watch it stolen over a financial matter having nothing to do with the farm.

Lee Holley believes this is part of a larger conspiracy to rob Black Farmers of their land. This month, the Senate announced The Justice for Black Farmers Act to protect remaining Black farmers from losing their land. The act will provide land grants to create a new generation of Black farmers, restore the land base lost, and implement systemic reforms to help family farmers across the United States. According to US Senator Cory Booker, there were nearly one million Black farmers in the United States in 1920. Unfortunately, due to the history of discrimination, it is estimated that there are less than 50,000 remaining Black farmers.

“This should be criminal,” said Holley. “This ordeal is killing me; at 86-years-old I never imagine losing the one thing my family worked so hard for and is a part of our family legacy. If I had the money to pay United Healthcare myself, I would, but I am an elderly farmer trying to fight a healthcare giant.” My family and I are not asking for a handout; we are merely praying for a miracle,”

Whether grown in indoor or outdoor environments, the cannabis plants’ physical characteristics leave it susceptible to a host of microbial pathogens. These pathogens, including molds, fungi, and yeasts, are generally harmless but can present a health threat to immunosuppressed individuals. Coliforms, such as E. coli and salmonella, which can also be present under certain circumstances, can be harmful to anyone.

Microbiologists use the term “colony-forming units” (CFU’s) to describe the number of pathogen cells present in a sample. Harvested cannabis having a high CFU count is a primary reason why cannabis growers fail their respective state’s regulatory compliance testing (cannabis remains illegal at the Federal level, therefore, National guidelines governing product purity do not yet exist). Product that cannot be remediated (purified) is typically destroyed or cooked-down into lower margin oils and edibles.

Currently, there are several methods of cannabis microbial remediation including chemical washing, cold plasma exposure, RF bombardment, and ozone saturation. None have proven as effective as ionizing radiation (X-ray and Gamma) which is the preferred method of remediation in Canada and several “more cannabis-developed” countries.

Kimtron’s Role
Early in 2014, Kimtron was approached by a group of individuals who, anticipating the inevitability of a legal US cannabis market, were intent on selecting the products, supplies, and quality control measures necessary to grow and distribute cannabis. The group identified Kimtron as a unique, vertically integrated x-ray system manufacturer capable of designing and producing a cannabis purification system. Their goal was to target emerging cannabis growers and bundle irradiators along with other grow-related products and services.
