LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2019 / — The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) will host a free screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, Los Tigres del Norte at Folsom Prison, on Sunday November 17 at 4:00 p.m.

In conjunction with the screening, MOLAA will exclusively debut a special exhibition of behind-the-scenes photographs, taken by award-winning photographer Lance Dawes, of Los Tigres del Norte’s historic visit to Folsom from Friday, November 15 through Sunday, November 17. The screening on November 17 will be followed by a Q&A with Lance Dawes and the documentary’s co-producer, Zach Horowitz. The documentary captures the legendary band’s trip to Folsom Prison in 2018, 50 years after Johnny Cash’s famous concert there. More than a concert film, the documentary is a journey into the world of Latino incarceration told through the songs of Los Tigres del Norte and interviews with Latinx inmates at Folsom. It’s been called one of the best new documentaries on Netflix by the Washington Post, the New York Daily News and Buzzfeed, just to name a few. The documentary is sixty minutes long, in Spanish with English subtitles.

Los Tigres del Norte is one of the most important and popular bands in the history of Latin music. Often called “the voice of the voiceless," they have sold over 40 million albums, have had 50 #1 chart-topping singles. After five decades, the band continues to sell out concerts across the U.S. and Latin America.

The exclusive photography exhibit features the work of Lance Dawes, the only photographer allowed to accompany the band on their visit to the prison. Best known for his work as a documentary and editorial photographer, for almost thirty years Dawes has chronicled virtually every aspect of the action sports industry as well as the music and entertainment industry. His credits include Slap Magazine (which he founded and where he was the editor, art director and chief photographer), Thrasher,, the Washington Post, the Associated Press and Juxtapoz Magazine. His work has appeared in campaigns for Sketchers, Vans, Panasonic, Fossil Watches and Nike and many others, as well as on album covers for Universal, Warner and Atlantic Records. He has photographed everyone from the Beastie Boys to Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Clint Eastwood. His work has been included in photography exhibits around the world.

Some of the photographs included in the exhibit will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting MOLAA.

There will be food trucks and a cash bar available on-site for the screening. The documentary will be screened in MOLAA’s Viva Event Center. This event is free and open to public. Boston Scientific Corporation Hit with 3 Lawsuits for Serious Injuries Caused by Obtryx Transobturator Sling

Dr Greg Vigna

The women are ‘newly injured’ since the Transvaginal Mesh Multidistrict Litigation in West Virginia (MDL) closed its doors to new cases in June 2018

My criteria for representation for new injuries are the neurological complications known to be caused by the transvaginal mesh devices and symptoms that suggest neurological injury.”

— Dr. Greg Vigna

SANTA BARBARA, CA, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2019 / — Boston Scientific Corporation has been hit with three lawsuits for serious injuries caused by the Obtryx transobturator (TOT) sling used for the surgical management of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). The women are ‘newly injured’ since the Transvaginal Mesh Multidistrict Litigation in West Virginia (MDL) closed its doors to new cases on June 19, 2018. New Injury cases involving Boston Scientific Corporation must be filed in Federal Court in the state of implantation or filed in the Superior Court in the County of Middlesex, Massachusetts which is where the principal place of business is located for Boston Scientific Corporation.

In contrast to the MDL where erosion was the target injury and number of surgical procedures had a correlation to the amount offered in the various Matrix Settlements, the second wave of transvaginal mesh litigation will focus on the neuromuscular injuries and catastrophic pain syndromes including complex regional pain syndrome, pudendal neuralgia, obturator neuralgia, and ilioinguinal neuralgia.

Boston Scientific Corporation is accused of negligence for selling a defective medical device and failing to warn about safety risks and fraudulent concealment of the magnitude of injury caused by this device. The Plaintiffs are represented by Ben C. Martin and Laura Baughman of Martin Baughman, PLLC and Greg Vigna, MD, JD. Ben Martin and Laura Baughman are national pharmaceutical injury attorneys in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Vigna is a California and Washington DC lawyer who focuses on catastrophic injuries and the neurological injuries caused by transvaginal mesh devices including pudendal neuralgia, obturator neuralgia, complex regional pain syndrome, and ilioinguinal neuralgia.

Greg Vigna, MD, JD states, “The decision on where to file a TVM case is a fact specific analysis of the law as it relates to product liability claims, availability of punitive damages, statutory caps on liability, and other factors. In the three cases, we decided, with consent of our clients, to file in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. The injured women, like an overwhelming majority of my clients, are severely injured with disabling pain and are facing significant future care cost and vocational loss.” (KT vs. Boston Scientific Corp, TD vs. Boston Scientific Corp, VH vs. Boston Scientific Corp)

Dr. Vigna adds, “My criteria for representation for new injuries are the neurological complications known to be caused by the transvaginal mesh devices and symptoms that suggest neurological injury. Clearly, there are many women who have had retropubic slings and suffer with neuropathic pain. Many of these women have undiagnosed ilioinguinal neuralgia from the blind placement of the mesh. TOTs and mini-sling devices cause obturator and pudendal neuralgia. The American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) must educate its physician members that there are many women that have clear symptoms of neuralgia that aren’t being heard by their implanting doctors and aren’t being timely treated for these catastrophic injuries.”

For articles, video resources, and information, visit the Pudendal Neuralgia Educational Portal We also have a new eBook discussing the consequences of sling implantation.

Take Time This Fall to Reset Before Winter Sets In

Once the leaves start to change color and litter the ground, we slow down a bit to take in the kaleidoscope of color that Mother Nature presents.

BANCROFT, ONTARIO, CANADA, October 31, 2019 / — There’s something about fall that changes the speed at which we experience life. Once the leaves start to change color and litter the ground, we slow down a bit to take in the kaleidoscope of color that Mother Nature presents.
Of course, city living changes that slowing process. The experience is often rushed by all the commotion of city life.
Getting away from the city and the hustle of life is good for the soul. And more so in the fall. The cool air is refreshing and clears the head to allow new thought processes, and clears the mind of negative thoughts and energy.
Take a trip into the scenic area of the Ottawa Valley, Kawarthas and the Muskokas and discover a beautiful world full of fun surprises. The drive alone is a pleasure, with it’s twists and turns. One never knows what they might see around the next bend.

Many small towns dot the area, each with their own treasures to discover. Farmers Markets and antique stores are plentiful so hop out of your car to stretch while touring the area and find that perfect item you’ve been looking for. Fall is the time for Studio Tours, and most towns host one where you can visit local artists in their own studio. Why not start your Christmas shopping early?

Pumpkin patches and corn mazes are quite easy to find once you’ve left the city, where you can pick your own pumpkin. This is the time for apple picking as well, and the farmers in the area are waiting for you!

Why not head out for the weekend and take a mini vacation before winter sets in? There are plenty of small inns and B&B’s in the area. If you’re headed to the Bancroft area, check out Footprints Resort, an adults only boutique resort, that rents out rooms and cabins on their 10+ acre property. When you’re tired of travelling all day, enjoy their nightly campfires or soak away the stiffness in their hot tub. The view of the fall leaves across their private lake is incredible. They close for the winter at the end of October, so get out there now.

Whatever you do this fall, take some time to breath in the fresh air and enjoy the spectacular colors that Mother Nature is presenting. Soon, it’ll all be under snow.

About Footprints Resort: Located in central Ontario in a pristine, natural setting where time stands still, Footprints Resort is an Adults Only retreat where guests can relax and reconnect. Enjoy our natural, child free vacation destination just a few short hours drive from both Toronto and Ottawa and feel the stress of life melt away. Social Nudity is On the Rise in Ontario

How does one start on their path to nudism? Here is some good advice to start out

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, October 31, 2019 / — Many mature adults are looking for the next, or even first, step in their hedonistic journey, and for many, that starting point is nudism. Being naked, or even partially naked in public around strangers can be daunting. It’s hard to shed inhibitions that were planted in us as children and nurtured throughout our lives.

Modern society frowns on hedonistic endeavors such as social nudity, but many adults are curious about exploring it, even if they are not quite ready. But how does one get over their hang ups and social conditioning?

Like anything, it takes practice. How does one practice social nudity? Start slow. Get naked at home and just go about your day sans clothing. You may be surprised at how freeing it can be, even if there’s no one else around. Be naked with your partner that does not lead to sex.

Go slow. Start by going topless, or wearing something loose with nothing underneath to see why others enjoy it.
Join a nudist forum group and join in the conversation. Other nudists can articulate what they enjoy about it, which you may connect with. They will surely have additional advice as well, such as nude beaches and vacation destinations.
Feel good about yourself. Exercise, eat nutritious meals, hydrate and accessorize appropriately. Nothing says you have to be completely naked. Wearing pretty jewelry, a see through wrap or a sarong may encourage you.

Find opportunities: make friends with other social nudists and hang out with them sans clothing. You’ll be surprised how quickly your inhibitions quiet down.

Go on vacation, find a quiet corner and go topless. First, if you’re away from home, it’s unlikely you’ll meet anyone you know. Second, if staff have a problem, they’ll ask you to get dressed. No big deal. And third, if it’s clothing optional, like Sandy Bottoms Resort in Ontario, you can be as dressed or undressed as you like and won’t have to bare it all if you’re not ready.

So, let those inhibitions slip away as you explore nudity this winter, then practice, practice, practice! By next summer, you’ll be ready to start exploring nudism at Sandy Bottoms Resort!

About Sandy Bottoms: Sandy Bottoms Resort is a 10+ acre private retreat where the majestic outdoors is the backdrop for a secluded adult only paradise. Located in beautiful central Ontario on it’s own private lake, Sandy Bottoms is only a few hours from both Toronto and Ottawa. Couples are encouraged to relax and get to know each other, and is a place to let loose in a safe and private setting. Several accommodations options are available, and the resort is self-catering. Rare Nintendo Pokémon "Pikachu Illustrator" promotional card soars to a record $224,250 at Weiss Auctions, October 23rd

Nintendo Pokemon “Pikachu Illustrator” trainer promo hologram card graded Mint 9 condition, given to a winner at the 1998 CoroCoro Comic Illustration contest in Japan ($224,250).

Fabulous production cel of Snow White, shown at a well with five doves (two of which have gotten loose), on a Courvoisier background, 8 ½ inches by 8 ½ inches ($4,400).

Scarce original production cel from the 1935 Disney film The Band Playing – the very first Mickey Mouse color short measuring 5 inches by 6 ½ inches ($11,865).

Complete five-volume set of Science Fiction Fanzine #1-5, including The Reign of Superman (1933-1934), a highly coveted Superman rarity by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster ($44,070).

Original Sunday comic page for Buster Brown and Tige by Richard Outcault (1863-1928), dated Sept. 24, 1916, watercolor and ink over graphite with hand-colored highlights ($7,800).

The trainer promotional hologram trading card, graded in Mint 9 condition, was presented to a winner at the 1998 CoroCoro Comic illustration contest in Japan.

LYNBROOK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 31, 2019 / — A Nintendo Pokémon “Pikachu Illustrator” trainer promotional hologram trading card, graded in Mint 9 condition and given to a winner at the 1998 CoroCoro Comic illustration contest in Japan, soared to $224,250 (a new world auction record) at an auction held October 23rd by Weiss Auctions, online and in firm’s Lynbrook gallery at 74 Merrick Road.

Fan-favorite Pikachu starred on what is inarguably the most valuable and rarest Pokémon card in the world, accounting for the dizzying selling price. Although the technical name for the card is "Pokémon Illustrator", it is known as "Pikachu Illustrator" due to the image. What makes it so rare is that it wasn’t sold but awarded as a prize at the illustration contest thru CoroCoro Comic.

The card was created specifically for the contest. In the January 1998 issue, three first place winners won a copy of the card, as did another 20 second place winners. With cards awarded in two more contests that year, there were a maximum of 39 copies released. It isn’t known exactly how many surviving copies are still around; however, only 10 PSA certified copies are known.

The card sold is the only card in the long-running collectible card game series to say "Illustrator" at the top of a trainer card, and the only one to bear the pen symbol in the bottom right corner. The artwork is by Japanese illustrator Atsuko Nishida. The card carried a pre-sale estimate of $125,000-$175,000, which some believed was high, but determined bidders thought otherwise.

The rest of the auction had 500 interesting, fresh-to-the-market lots, in categories that included sports, cards, comic books, comic art, animation, Disney memorabilia and more. The runner-up top lot was a genuine Superman rarity: the complete five-volume set of Science Fiction Fanzine #1-5, including The Reign of Superman (1933-1934), by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster ($44,070).

It was just the third time that Weiss Auctions had ever offered the set in its entirety. Two of the issues were signed by Siegel, one as “Jerome Siegel” in blue pencil on an editorial page and one as part of a pencil note to a subscriber. Some copies had pages that were in the wrong order due to the amateurish nature of the printing from Siegel and Schuster, still in high school at the time.

Following are additional highlights from the auction. Internet bidding was facilitated by and All prices quoted include the buyer’s premium.

A scarce original production cel from the 1935 Disney film The Band Playing – the very first Mickey Mouse color short – finished at $11,865. The cel measured 5 inches by 6 ½ inches and had a great image of Mickey leading the band. It was one of many Disney lots in the auction.

An eight-page pen-and-ink Batman story done in 1994 by the illustrator Joe Kubert (back-dated 1996, DC Publications, issue unknown) realized $9,000. The story was accompanied by photo-copies of these and other pages and came out of Kubert’s estate, as were other items in the sale.

An original Sunday comic page for Buster Brown and Tige by Richard Outcault (1863-1928), dated Sept. 24, 1916, with hand-colored highlights, changed hands for $7,800. The watercolor and ink over graphite comic page, quite rare and desirable, measured 20 inches by 21 inches.

Another Disney lot that had paddles wagging was a fabulous production cel for Snow White, shown at a well with five doves (two of which have gotten loose), on a Courvoisier background. The cel – 8 ½ inches square – sold within its $3,000-$5,000 estimate to hammer for $4,400.

Weiss Auctions will have what is shaping up to be one of its most important auction events ever on Thursday, November 21st, online and in the Lynbrook gallery. The estate sale will feature an important early 18th century sterling silver tankard bearing the mark of “Bartholomew Le Roux”, a 27-inch Tiffany Studios linen fold lamp and a large selection of linen-backed vintage posters.

Also sold will be a collection of works from New England School artists; important artworks by Joan Miro and Marc Chagall; an oil painting by Jean Dufy; a large illustration painting by James Montgomery Flagg; a large selection of better Nippon pieces; bronzes and porcelains; and estate jewelry items ordered sold on behalf of the New York and Bronx Public Administrators Offices.

This herbal tea collection is designed to showcase the Zodiac and Constellations that make our tea connoisseur feel as though they are truly in harmony with their personal universe allowing them to relax, feel enlightened and balanced.
The tea collection capitalizes on the upward trend to consume organic ingredients and hygge which is a Danish trend to create relaxation and coziness in the home. Organic flowers, herbs, roots and leaves are the primary ingredients in the blends and also include an increasingly popular anti-inflammation remedy, turmeric tea. Add-on accessories include tea ball infusers, tea infuser bottles, hand-stamped vintage spoons and indulgent bath bombs.
The collection ranges from $10-$150.

Clara is excited to welcome her fans to the new handmade product line collection and has already enjoyed pre-launch sales.
